Beginning in 2002. We were involved in the early stages setting up the breed (breed established 2000) with jobs/ tweaking of breed standards/introduction of breed types and along with the current foundation breeders around Australia selecting suitable genetically small foundation animals (Grade D) to start the breed off with with the original goat group (AMGR). In 2004 with more breeders getting involved and a growing registry of animals that were source and bought into the breed and a nice selection of kids on the ground with the workload rising 2004 saw the AMGR and a few breeders including Bouncing Hooves establishing a breed Association to take over memberships and promotion of the existing breed , since then we have been on the management committee of 2 Associations for the breed through to 2015.

During time off committees (around 3 years) we were helping newer elected committee members as an advisor and help with any jobs needed and being their when called upon and donating time to members events and promotions. In 2013 we sold our herd to move into the home building game which meant town life and many moves. We continue to be extremely proud of the animal we have produced over the years concentrating on conformation and height reduction with our main focus being on working to reproduce breeding animals without structural faults and being a miniature breed, importantly bucks with wide pelvises and good rumps to pass on to breeding offspring to maintain the ease of reproducing within the miniature breed as we reduced heights and sold stock to other breeders.

I was called on to become a committee member again in 2015 and am happy to support this wonderful Association filled with fantastic people and great opportunities. .

WHY MGBA? The MGBA is an Association built on the kind volunteer work by many dedicated people since 2007 as a continuation of the founder of the breeds group from 2000. All donating time away from family and their lives, donating money, sharing information, setting up promotions and doing the hard yards in the set up of the breed so breeders Australia wide would have somewhere to register, market and have their breed promoted as well as show their animals and get the breed to be a recognised breed within Australia while it was being established. Without the MGBA and volunteers as the leading Association in Australia the breed would not be where it is today. We understand the sacrifices that has been made by volunteers over the years and proudly continue to support the legacy (including those that have passed away) of ALL the people that have represented and donated their time to the MGBA that also make Bouncing Hooves Miniature Goats experience possible and all other breeders around Australia able to experience this little breed in 2015 as an established breed.
